CTV selects EVS technology to ensure successful TV coverage of the 2012 BAFTA awards

London, 4 April 2012 – Outside broadcast (OB) specialist, CTV, recently used EVS technology to ensure the successful editing and play out of BBC1's TV coverage of the world renowned 2012 BAFTA ceremony. The prestigious awards were held on 12 February at London's Royal Opera House. EVS, the leading provider of broadcast and media production systems for sports, news and TV entertainment, supplied integrated and streamlined production facilities, delivering the speed, control and reliability the BAFTA broadcast needed to ensure dynamic content from the stage to the red carpet.

On 28th February, It was the second day of MWC2012. It was a very important day. Journalists and editors from more than 30 famous media were invited to visit Datang Telecom Group. Our local partner in West Europe 3GSP, who could provide fully integrated audio-, video- and webconferencing, had also been invited to our stand in Barcelona.

Carmelo, Telecommunication and Information Technology Expert, and François-Xavier Despret, CEO of 3GSP, arrived early to the stand. After a brief conversation and preparation, we started to work. Based on the trial network of Datang Telecom, the experts of 3GSP began to test their applications by using their remote conferencing software as a medium, such as Video conferencing software, PC Video Conferencing Software, Ipad Conferencing Software, and Mobile Phone Video Conferencing Software. During the test meeting, we could see a clear picture and also heard a clear voice, and all participants could share documents in real time and make comments easily and smoothly. Du 7 au 9 mars, 700 producteurs, distributeurs, diffuseurs venus de 34 pays se sont retrouvés à Lyon en vue d'obtenir des financements, monter des coproductions ou développer des ventes internationales pour 55 projets de long métrage d'animation en provenance de 18 pays. Le budget total des films présentés s'élevait à 380 millions d'euros. Plus de 100 distributeurs ont participé à cette édition, soit 10% de plus qu'en 2011, démontrant leur intérêt grandissant pour le long métrage d'animation, meilleur exportateur de l'audiovisuel européen. L'exemple du film islandais « Thor » présenté a Cartoon Movie, qui a fait plus de 750 000 entrées en Corée du Sud, illustre que l'animation européenne conquiert de nouveaux marchés.
