9 new members

You could say that the TWIST network is expanding, but it would be more exact to say it's evolving. A cluster needs new members to fuel discussions, to share different points of view, to expand its knowledge base, etc. End of 2009, 9 companies took this step and joined us, each with their own particularities. A little overview of these newcomers (who are perhaps new but most are not unknown...)

TSF.BE is a material rental company from France. They recently became a part of the Liège Image Cluster (in premises shared by CoToon and WFX), and have already worked on several feature film projects such as Hors-la-loi by RACHID BOUCHAREB (see also TSFBE comes to our region bearing several assets)

SEE AND TOUCH, also based around Liège, is specialised in Digital Signage (outdoor screens – tactile interactivity) and in interactive terminals.

ACIC actually is a spin-off of the Multitel research centre, the FPMs and UCL, all three active TWIST members. They specialise in the creation of automatic analysis software for video, they develop high-performance applications turning cameras into intelligent and powerful sensors for video surveillance, head counts or traffic analysis. Set up in 2003, the company can also boast about expanding their activities abroad, since ACIC solutions have proved themselves in Europe and the Middle East.

MENNON ARCHIVING SERVICES is already known to TWIST since they were present at a member meeting in October of last year. Their activity is centred around three axis: digitalising audiovisual archives; indexing and cataloguing of digital archives and expertise with metadata.

FISHING CACTUS was almost a part of the network before becoming an official member, since they are close to a few TWIST companies such as Belle Productions and Creaceed. Their domain: video game production. Their creations are used for Iphone and Samsung phones, but also for Wii, DS, PS3, PSP and XBOX 360.

DIGIDYN also works on Digital Signage, as well as on interactivity and 3D screens. This company is located on Chaussée de Louvain in Evere (Brussels), like that other company named Victor Studio.

SPATIAL VIEW offers both 3D without glasses and unique applications for iPhone/iPod Touch. Set up in 2004, the company is also present in Canada (where it is from) and in Germany.

MOOVADE as a company mainly concentrates on 'mobile'. Specialised in the development of software for mobile phones, mobile web and mobile widgets, they work with big names in the Belgian field such as ClearChannel and Sanoma Magazines.
