Technocité and NeuroTV are very proud of their newest installations: a brand new virtual studio, equipped with two HD cameras, set up in their training centre in the Mons-based Initialis Park.
Their objective: set up the first training course on world-scale around the use of a virtual studio. The infrastructure has been ready since last December, today only the course's programme must be adjusted, which will be done within the next few days since the courses will start in February 2010. Technocité is the only training centre equipped with such a tool!
Since a few years, virtual studios appear all over the world. Even though this type of installation requires a certain know-how, until now no courses were available to gain insight in the techniques and directions for use of these studios. “We supplied a full system to the training centre in Mons,” explains Sébastien Hiernaux of NeuroTV. “Starting with an empty space, we set up an installation, ranging from control room to greenscreen to the cameras.” This training course should cover all stages of a television show, this includes the creation of décors, setting these up and the different problems related to this (for example, lighting), the integration of people, and giving life to a virtual character. All of this is cutting-edge technology. Technocité will also make a room available with a dozen work stations for the course. NeuroTV software will be installed on each of these machines, which will allow the students to grasp this before finding themselves in the control room. The studio itself is equipped with two cameras. The first one is a mobile camera and has a robot head which reproduces the movements of the camera on the virtual décor. The second works with new technology developed by NeuroTV, which makes it possible for the user to recreate movements by manipulating the image of the participant who is filmed while the camera remains immobile, making it possible to get very broad shots, previously only possible with a crane in a very big studio. Also, this camera entirely integrates a ChromaKey system (which replaces the green background by the virtual décor), usually an external system. NeuroTV and normally DreamWall too will send instructors to Technocité to train the future users of virtual studios. By calling upon cutting edge human and technological resources, Technocité really expressed their wish to put in place a high quality training course, which should attract the attention of European television channels. |
