3D Stereo MEDIA, a new international event fully dedicated to 3D

3D Stereo MEDIA will be held at the « Palais des Congrès » (Convention Center) of Liège, Belgium, on 1-3 Dec 2009. It consists of a « Festival » of 3D technology and a Festival of 3D films.

The 3D Technology Festival comprises a series of oral presentations covering all scientific, technical, and artistic aspects of 3D stereo (and beyond), complemented by scientific and technical posters. It also features an exhibit showing the state-of- the-art in many areas of 3D, in particular for 3D in the cinema and in the home (TV, games, phones, ...), for advertisement, and for communication,. A unique, futuristic TV and cinema studio featuring 3D stereo and multicamera systems will be operational throughout the event, featuring captation, transmission, and visualization. Well-known international experts will animate the event.

The 3D Film festival, presided by Ben Stassen, the author the the well-known 3D movie « Fly Me To The Moon, » will offer a wide variety of 3D movies accessible to the general public. Well-known feature films tracing the history of 3D cinema from « ChickenLittle » to « Avatar » will be shown in some Kinepolis movie theaters of Liège, Brussels, and Antwerpen. A variety of 3D short movies (fiction, documentaries, live events, sports, advertisements, ...) will also be shown at the Palais des Congrès.

• Festival du Film 3D : compétition organisée pour les court-métrages et les long-métrages numériques 3D.
