| 3D Stereo MEDIA 2010: Results of the second edition |

This second edition has once again attracted over 800 international professionals and experts involved in the development and applications of 3D technologies for all types of media: cinema, television, mobile phones, computers, industry...
The rich program of the high level conferences has seen more than 80 experts on technological and artistic evolutions of 3D, 50 exhibitors, as well as a two-day filmmaking training, which have led to fruitful exchanges between technical, scientific and artistic worlds for a better use of this new technology. In addition, unique technology demonstrations were carried out, connecting in 3D live the Convention Center with several locations in Liège (namely the Holiday Season Village, the "SOS Planet” exhibition, Pôle Image de Liège) and New York City via satellite. These demonstrations have highlighted the technicians’ skills and the know-how of EUTELSAT, RTBF and TRANSVIDEO. The 3D Film Festival was exclusively devoted to productions in relief. More than 50 films from 15 countries participated in the competition. The professional jury, chaired by Belgian director Ben Stassen, gave the following awards during the Gala Evening, conducted by Philippe Reynaert: Award for Best Feature Film: Amphibious 3D (Netherlands) Award for Best Short Film: Elephants Dream (Netherlands) Award for Best Documentary: Sea Rex 3D (France) Award for Best 3D Captation: Une Nuit au Cirque (France) Award of the Public: Kaeloo, si on jouait à la quête du Greul ! (France) AWEX Prize: awarded to the Liege-base company EVS for its international development in 3D. The event was organized with the support of many local and foreign companies, as well as the Walloon Ministry of Economy, Scientific Research, French Community and the Wallonia Export and Investments Agency (AWEX). This second edition was a success and the organizers are happy to announce the third edition on 7, 8, 9 December 2011. |



3D Stereo MEDIA 2010, organized at the initiative of the University of Liège, the e-Mage Technology Forum and the TWIST Cluster, took place from 8 to 10 December in Liège at the Convention Center (Palais des Congrès) and the Cinema Sauvenière.
