BEIJING, BRUSSELS– May 9th 2011 – Beijing EEDOO Technology Ltd. (abbreviated as EEDOO), the leading digital entertainment products and online services provider in China, and Softkinetic Studios, the leading provider of gesture based interactive entertainment experiences, today announced that EEDOO has selected SoftKinetic Studios’ gesture-recognition game DanceWall to be featured as a bundled title with the launch of the iSec gesture- recognition console system.
The iSec is a high-performance, home entertainment platform that EEDOO targets at the rapidly growing market for multimedia and gaming applications in China. Aimed at 120 million homes, the iSec will provide unique, 3D gesture-based multimedia and gaming entertainment content to Chinese families. The iSec is the result of two years of development that originated from the S&P business unit of Lenovo; the platform will launch in China in the second half of 2011. “DanceWall is a very natural choice for us, as it brings a very intuitive and innovative gesture-based experience to our customers of all ages,” said Jack Luo, CEO of EEDOO. “DanceWall is a perfect title to demonstrate our goal of providing the most exciting 3D gesture-recognition entertainment for families and friends across the whole of China.” In DanceWall the goal for players is to achieve the highest score possible by successfully maneuvering their onscreen avatar to fit through cutout shapes, holes, in approaching walls. Players control avatars’ movements by their own in-room movements, and can conform the avatar to any shape players make with their body. DanceWall can be played alone, or as a team of two players. DanceWall, developed in collaboration between SoftKinetic Studios and Orange Vallée, is powered by SoftKinetic’s gesture-recognition middleware, iisuTM. “It is a true honor for us to provide a game to be part of the launch of the iSec,” said Mike Nichols, General Manager of SoftKinetic Studios. “We’re looking forward to the release of the platform and to providing more high-quality gesture-recognition titles to one of the most important gaming audiences in the world.” |
