The countdown has begun!

Studio l’Equipe started to work on this important project almost a year ago with the first development tests.

Today, the final mixing has been wrapped up and we have asked the main mixer, Jean-Paul Hurier (Le Prophète, La Môme…) for his impressions.

Jean-Paul spent 4 months in Belgium to supervise the whole sound postproduction of the film.« First of all, we had to introduce the two teams (Belgian and French) to each other. Working over such a long period required constant attention, adaptation and resourcefulness, as the supervisor is in charge of all stages and elements of the sound postproduction. By the time one embarks on mixing one has acquired in-depth knowledge of the film and the artistic desires of the director.
Largo Winch is a French film, but it required the quality and scope of American action movies (Jason Bourne, James Bond). We therefore had to set extremely high standards for the sound quality (we re-recorded all the vehicles, the impacts, winds, etc…), and the precision of the mixing (400 tracks were required to read all the sounds). The specific difficulty of this film was to emphasize all these sound effects in relation to the levels of the voices and music. It isn’t always easy to juggle all these parameters. It was a long, meticulous and demanding job… and it was absolutely fascinating!»
